I think this would be under the category of a photo manip., but I'm not sure:

oh cool, theres a guy who used to go here, ach i forget his name. but he did a similar thing with pictures of women. not sure im sold on the colour of the purple, or all the detail lost in the face, but the effect you went for is cool. maybe tone it down just a tad.
i dont mind the purple.. i mean ok... so ppl don't use purple so much.. SO WHAT? it doesnt mean its a NO NO! right?
but she's lost a lot of detail... and those particles arnd her... i dont like em... idk wut shud be done to them... maybe blurr? idk wut i wud do to em...
undertone i hope u werent talkin abt New-001.. cuz thats kind of a hard name to forget..
i cant see the manip:)
I think she shines to much in the head, and i too dont like the purple particles.
Eh.. I was experimenting with the pen tool.. :p Was trying to get it to wrap around her some sort of way.. :) Yeah, details not the greatest, but I wanted her to "glow" a bit.. Plus, this was before I dabbled in blending.. :p
Thanks for the comments.. ;)
yeah, it was ryzee

cool idea, but it needs some work.
you lost a lot of detail like undertone said, in the face, and it could use some more coloring.
To be honest.... it hurts my eyes. It's like staring into the sun... It's really bright, and her face has lost most or all of the details.
If I want to say something that I like about it, it has to be how her hair looks at the top of her head, but apart from that, I have to say I don't like it very much.
Maybe tone it down a bit, get a bit more color in and keep her face...

Yea I agree. Its just a tad too bright, and like said you lost detail :P
I'm gonna guess you did at atleast one point -Gaussian blurr, than set it to lighten blending mode.
Well anywho if you did you could erase parts of that layer to preserve most of the details in her face
Heh.. I did way more than just a layer with lighten.. :p I'll have to re-create it to get more details.. I'll see what I can do next time I'm online.. :)
ofcourse, clearly you did alot :D
Just saying that technique is infamous for loosing detail, so by erasing parts of it you can preserve some detail
yeah layer mask some of it with a light brush or effect to preserve some of the detail also boring being only one tone..
