Yeah, they suck but they need to test you somehow to know that the information stuck with you or that you weren't just coping someone elses work the whole time... Although I will say some exams are way too hard for a given subject matter. For instance, I don't think a final exam should cover EVERY little thing learned throughout the year. That is just too much.

They really do suck, but they're a necessity. I have to just struggle my way through 3 more and then I'm done for the summer.

Well, in australia, you dont have exams until yr 10, which is good. All you do in yr 7-9 is have Monthly/Term Tests, then it goes Semester test, but its not like an exam really. But in year 10 (im in yr 10 now :P) you need your year 10 certificate, so what they do, is the last 5 weeks of the school year, you just do exams, that all you do, will be quite hectic :(
