I've seen many people with this 'render' It was posted on game renders i think (rips everywhere though) so I don't know...
Being on gamerenders or not, I think itd be a good plan to take this down. I'm not pointing the blame at octane, more towards game renders or the source he got it from assuming its not directly from depthcore. The original source, however, is depthcore so the source octane got it from, again assuming its not directly from depthcore, doesn't matter.
Bottom of the page on depthcore:

could be a rip but ive seen that render used in other peoples sigs so he could have gotten it from another source.....but i dont know
the sig - its kinda creepy but i like the effect it gives off ^_^

Plus, it's in many of the render packs that you can download here.
I realize that, but the render being in render packs or from other sources doesn't justify your use of it. Just because somebody else ripped it first and said that you could use it doesn't mean that all copyrights are lifted.
edit: ugh... i see more stuff in that link you posted that have copyrights on them...

As far as we know though, they may have gotten permission to render it. But we can't accuse ripping until we do know.

Octane, nobody has had permission to use that image... I know the guys at DepthCore. They hated the fact that their art has been taken to be used around the net.
Your sig does look nice though, so well done on that aspect.
I think it's very well done, other than the fact that it's kind of a rip....

Actually, as far as we know, they didn't have permission to render it. Theres no evidence suggesting that there was permission given nor proof to back up the evidence. There is evidence however, at the bottom of the dC page, that they didn't have permission. I said it beforeQuote:

Regarding that last part about making arrangements for usage, there would be credit given to pixelcatalyst for that piece and I highly doubt that a dC member would allow his/her work to be thrown around all over the internet without any credit. If I were you, Id just take the signature down. Its clear that where ever you got that image from, it was taken from depthcore without permission.
