I'm just letting you know that whatever source you got it from took it from Hoon so it'd be a good plan to take it down ;)

EquaL... It has copyrights on it. I don't know why youre getting angry that I pointed it out. Saying "render by hoon" doesn't lift copyrights on it. Its not intended for commercial nor for personal use, but only for viewing purposes. Its not a render by the way, its a digital painting. I'm not trying to start fights by pointing it out, but a real artist would have integrity without disregard for other artists' work and requisition that nobody takes that work. And by telling Lo[g]ix that it was taken from another artist, he's getting the chance to show he is a real artist.

Well in that case, every single render is made by somebody else. So that means nobody can make a sig unless they make their own renders, because it would infringe on the copyright laws of somebody in the world who made that render. I'm sure barely anybody on this entire forum makes their own, so it's not that big of a problem.
Use free stock images and officially released game art, or you could receive written permission from the artist.
I'm glad you brought it up. Actually Tobias, you're incorrect. The renders people are using on here are made by individuals, yes, but they are owned by game companies. Those of you that use game renders argue that its ok to use them because the game companies dont mind the attention theyre getting. This piece was made by an individual and it is owned by that individual. Thats a completely different story. This person has the copyrights on the material in question so that this sort of thing doesn't happen. I made a thread about ripping when I first came here, asking what this board considers a rip. The response I was given was that game companies don't mind you using their renders (as long as its only for personal use, not for commercial use). I was also told that if someone uses work made by an individual, however, that is considered a rip. This is extremely clear that it was made by an individual with blatant and specific copyrights. That's the difference.

Jesus guys! I bet no one cares who uses the pics. Unless Hoon is some asshole, then I bet he wont care. Because THOUSANDS of people have used it. Gosh, just lay off that and give him comments on the rest of the sig

Just because you don't care doesn't mean that artists who work hard don't when their work is taken. Hoon sells his artwork so I wouldn't be surprised if he does mind people taking it. The number of people who have used it, whether its one or one thousand, doesn't justify this use of it. The point is, he sells his work and he has copyrights on it.
If this isn't a rip, then is there such a thing as a rip on these boards? From what I've seen, it doesn't seem like it. Even rips from depthcore don't mean anything. What is a "rip" here? I'm curious :)
copyrights? i wanna see the forms he got from the govt to be satisfied, cuz i think DA's whole copyright thing is bogus. how the hell do they copyright every work on the damn site when it takes weeks to get a copyright on one work. ive copyrighted a logo before with the govt, and that took forever, so im pretty skeptical taht DA's copyrights are even legit :\ id like to hear an explanation on it.
but anyway logix i think the sig is kinda sloppy and doesnt flow too well.. its decent for something made when ur bored i guess.. :D

if u dont have a copyright with govt... and is on the internet is not urs even if u put the useless COPYRIGHT ME blah blah...is not urs...yes u created but u did the mistake to put it on the internet :) if u want it to be urs only dont make it public...or get a lawyer and sue every single person in the world that uses ur art... LOL he should take it as a compliment his stuff is being used by others... >.< so dont try to embarras ppl in public saying he rips and blah blah... So just because the guy put it on the Internet everyone should have the right steal his work? I mean I do it too, I use stocks in my tags, but I try to stay away from peoples art work, digital painting and such, which still doesn't make it right I know.
I see Jacks point and I always have and in the end he is right, like all the other people that have brought this point up on 100 different forums. Even if you don't intend on stopping you should at least admit its stealing someone elses work , because it is. I see how you guys get when people steal your tags which most of you don't spend any more than 20 minutes on. Think how a real artist would feel if someone stole his work that he spent 30 hours or more on. Which most digital painting do. You would be pissed wouldn't you? I mean even if the guy doesn't care, that doesn't make it right to take his work.
Plus I've never liked that image in any sig, but now seeing that as it was supose to be no one has ever done it justice.
Well see this was basicaly spam considering this has been argued over in many other threads. A mod should decide weather or not to take down teh sig and tehn this topic should be spam locked. as for the sig you cna do better man
