you must have confused it with its release date.. SUPPOSEDLY** it's supposed to be released on the same day as the ps3 (smart and quite humorous tactic to kill the ps3 sales.. and frankly.. i think it just might work)

Here's the story line btw
Your a guy named Jon (original name) and you try to stop aliens from invading earth (very innovative), you can somehow take 5000 aliens out at once and do crazy retarded shit. Then you go through levels that look exactly the same, over and over again (sounds like fun). Then you do the most repetitive gameplay ever (really fun).
Go to google, and search about the Original Halo 6 years ago. Then you'll see why Microsoft is evil.

halo 2 was fun, yet repetitive, and i hardly play it anymore
halo: ce, in my opinion revolutionized console FPS. Most games can only hope for half the success halo offered. Whether you liked it or not, it was still an undeniably well done game. I think you analysis of the plot is overcritical, biased, and comical.
1) What other goodness would it give us to know his full name? or would you rather him have some exotic name?
2) He does not fight the aliens on his own, or all at once.. have you played the game? o.O
3) if by crazy retarded shit you mean having high jumping abilities and super strength.. that is due to his MJOLNIR battle armor. read the books.
4) The levels, IMO are VERY varied. You start out in a space cruiser. then you're on a mysterious planet. then you're on a covenant space ship. then eventually you go to halo again, then an icy part of halo, then inside a base on halo, then eventually back to the cruiser in which you started.. the pillar of autumn. maybe if you pay attention to the actual plot, you would appreciate it as having such magnitude of say.. star wars. it does indeed have a unique and complex plot if you pay attention to it. if you would like me to explain in more detail, just say so.
5) the gameplay is not, in my opinion, repetitive IN HALO CE (halo 2 i would agree with you). halo 2 was nonstop excitement. at least for me.

Halo and Halo 2, is great fun imo. I dont really know the full story of the storyline in Halo 2 (Cus I couldnt really hear most of the stuff they said due to speaker problems.Quote:

The only disappointing thing is they had to take a lot of stuff outta the game. I forgot why but they mentioned it on the "Making of Halo DVD".
Now that you mentioned the Halo movie, I wonder if they're gonna make the movie according to the Halo novels "The Fall of Reach and First Strike" or if they're gonna make a movie according to the storyline of the game... :huh:
PS: Never tried the Halo PC Version though..What's different about it? :P

Halo sucks...you guys should come down to reality and play some games like Ghost Recon 2 and SOCOM 3. Im not really into the whole lets shoot some aliens with some "plasma" guns. I mean, a needler...what the shit is that?!

Actually, if you knew anything about it, you would know that microsoft had no part in the creation of Halo:Combat Evolved. Bungie decided (after the unveiling of the xbox and gamecube) that halo would have a bigger fan base if it were on a console. Halo 3 (said by bungie) is not supposed to come out until early next year. They also said that it would be likely that an amped up halo 2 would be a release title for the 360. I am not a huge fan of halo 2, but i think halo 3 is going to be great. The storyline, as you should know, is going to be destroying more rings, duh?
AND HELL NO! PS3 will not be supporting any halo games. Microsoft Bought Bungie, and the rights to Halo so that bungie would have some extra cash to work on the sequel.

Dont get mad when you are proved wrong. As you say Killing Aliens with plasma guns" is repetative, halo 1 was released for its multiplayer gameplay. not the single player mode. When they relized that the single player was just as popular of a past time as the multiplayer, they decided to focus on that a little too. Halo 1 yes, very repetative. Halo 2 though, i don't think any two of the levels look remotely alike. There were always twists and turns to the story (which is awesome) and that keeps people (who have a moderate amount of intelligence) hooked. Thats like saying that "CSI" is extremely repatative because all they do is solve crimes.
Ok, for all those who said "halo" sucks. Looks if you don't like the game... then don't play it. You have no right to ruin it for someone else... just cause of your crappy attitude.
I my self like halo. I like both of them for multiplayer. Personaly... I've never really goten into the campaigns and don't really plan to. Killing AI's is great and all. But it gets really fun when you actualy kill someone online. Cause there is actualy someone behind the char. So yea ^^ thats my opinion :)

I don't want it to turn into a kinda flamey topic though..It's meant to be a discussion topic for people who enjoy halo and their point of views towards Halo 3 and the movie. :)
Halo 1 XBOX: Great. Single player rocked because it was the first game of its kind like that. No other game at that time was close to it. You have to think of the game when it was released and not 3 or 4 years later. Halo 1 now is great because it has so much contrast in tactics than in Halo 2.
Halo 1 PC: PC version is great. Has the same campaign as the xbox version, but with more mulitplayer levels for online play. Halo PC is still fun to play.
Halo 2: Although the single player ending kinda sucked, the way through the levels were great. The contrast in levels were outstanding. First you are in a temple/ruins, then you are in downtown of a city, then in a forest, then on a covenent spaceship. It had good twists and irony, but the ended blowed, it just ended too soon. Mulitplayer was awesome. Now on live, its either get modded, or get pwned by little kids that play halo 2 all day. I just went on last night to play, and I got modded and some little 12 year old kicked my ass. When Halo 2 was first released, the multiplayer was the best.
Halo 3: I am very excited to see the campaign story line. Multiplayer should be good. I think that they should change the battle rifle so that when you zoom in and shoot its single rounds, and when you aren't zoomed, its burst mode. I think they should make a weaker version of the fuel rod gun for muliplayer, like a weak grenade would shoot out or something, so that you have to hit them or around them like 3 or 4 times. Also I think they should make more vehicles, like the pelican available for multiplayer. It should be a pretty good game.
Halo the Movie: That will be a sci-fi movie to see. Lots of action, and storyline. It might be a bummer if they pick the wrong book to base it off of.
To the haters of halo: Go and play your realistic shooters and dont mind us halo fans.
Hopefully the movie's on First Strike or Fall of the Reach. Personally, I think the book's great!

What's the difference between Halo on XBOX and Halo PC though..? I'm still troubled by it.
fall of reach was a FANTASTIC book. i have read it twice, and it was superb. i hate those pricks who label it stupid just because it's based on a video game. it is excellent writing.
I hope they do it on that. I haven't read first strike yet, but i'm sure it's great
If they do it on fall of reach i'm sure the new enemies won't be in it, although you never know, they might just tie it in with the other books/games
halo is the same campaign on xbox as on pc
only difference is that pc you can get the flamethrower, fuel rod cannon, and i think theres one more weapon i can't remember. the pc one also has more maps.
i still prefer it on xbox though.. so many good LAN party memorise :(
Aww. I wanna try LAN parties..most of my mates have Game Cube or PS2, which sucks. I wonder if you get to control the pelican and/or the Phantom on Campaign mode. If you can, that'll be friggen cool.
Hopefully, Halo 3 will have more missions and much more cooler maps and more weapons (I know I'm expecting a lot from Halo 3. I mean, who wouldn't?).
Oh yea, and at the end of Halo 2, did it say Halo is activated or not? I couldn't hear much cus the sound system broke. :(

i personally didn't think the ending was bad. i don't mind cliffhanger endings, i don't think it was a bad choice to end it right there, although i still woulda preferred to play it out some more

It gives me such a hard time. Thanks for the link to the cutscenes. It expanded my understanding of the storyline of Halo 2. I never heard that rumor of being able to fly the Longsword in Halo 2. I only heard the rumor of the flamethrower being included in Halo 2.
