New photoshop user needs advice

:) Hello All,
I'm a New photoshop user who needs advice.

I am looking for a very basic first
get to know photoshop tutorial.

I surely hope that someone can point
me in that direction.

I suggest you go read a few books like adobe photoshop for dummies that kind cosz it is hard for us to like give you a good tut for the whole thing. Most of the tuts over here require minimum knowledge of adobe photoshop.

(dont get me wrong, i do, and i believe most of us would want to help you,only it is hard to tell you the whole thing. how about simply asking specific Q?)

Define new... if one month of using means new then i am new -_-|||

also, as sceptileex suggested you can look at a few photoshop books at a library or smthing. its a good way to introduce you to the tools and other stuff such as filters and blending modes.

however if you are the type that learns through application i suggest you to look at online tutorials. you can try www.good-tutorials.com then apply what u learned in the tutorials by making smthing like an avatar or banner. that's how i learned. now when i look at photoshop books for beginners i find that i pretty much know everything in it

I didn't use a book. I learned the basics in a computer class. But it was with photoshop elemnts...still has the basics.

I started reading books, but i would say i actually learnt all the stuff from these online tuts coz i really dont like reading books -_-||| LOL! same with flash, dreamweaver and paint shop pro. Didnt learn from scratch, i preferred to try the nice nice designs.

Just find tutorials that have all the steps on them and are clear to understand thats the easiest and coolest way to learn....

hmm, i taught myself the basics and then followed tutorials to learn more advanced stuff. if i got stuck on how to do something then i checked the help.

But then I've been on puters since before most of you were twinkles in your mother's eye, so I have an advantage.

If your still looking for help, I found some good sites the other day that takes you through the basics, I can post the url when i get home from work tonight, say in approx. 8 or so hours.

when i started i taught myself from trial and error, then i found out about this great thing called "tutorials" and i just looked at like say 15 tutorials a day and in no time i knew my way around PS.
