Yeah pretty much it has been sold again. Me and Jack were working on something really good but Allan sold it to this other guy -- I think we should just all leave and let this place die, just go to another active community and just hang out there, this place is dead.

This place is dead, I was trying to salavage the people that were left, another trade in ownership will just drive this thing into the ground... the new owner wants to change the name so basically all the uniqueness we had about Climb-X will be gone after he changes the name.
Why don't you just make a new forum? Contact your people, and they'll move along with you - it'd be pretty much the same as cx but without douchebags selling it every five minutes.

I rarely sell websites. Actually, in 10 years of being in the web publishing business I have not sold any of my sites. It's very likely that this community will not be sold again, if ever, for a LONG time.Quote:

I don't believe I mentioned anything about wanting to change the name, but I did ask in the mods forum if the name "Climb-X" had any special meaning or if it represents something other than simply being the name of the site.Quote:

I haven't considered changing the name, but would if that is what would be best for the community. Is the website name the only thing that makes this community unique? I think it's the members of this community who provide the uniqueness and significance of CX... even if we decided to call it something different it would not change what is really special about this community.

John, you don't understand what Climb-X was. Yes you can go back and read up all the threads you want, but you will never be able to achieve what we had a long time ago here. Climb-X the name pretty much defines the community here that we had; Unique, Bold are just two words that come to mind. Climb-X stands for something that most of us really liked, something that we spend tons of time on and met a ton of new friends and learned much more than we ever expected to. If you change the name, it will be almost like loosing this feeling of boldness and uniqueness of the community, almost like stripping us of our pride. I suggest not to change the name, and if you are I doubt a lot of the long time members will follow along, it would be like a new community of people rather than the goold ole days of us long timers.
