Newbies

All these programs like CS an dthat stuff, can u actually LEGALLY download any of them for free?? im stuck with PS7 i dont do much PS bu twould love to get back into it and more
active on this site once again...............

Don't think you can download any legally, but I think PS7 and CS is probably the best out of all Photoshop versions. So maybe you should stick with that until CS3 comes out and buy it or something. If you can download programs for free legally, no company and businesses would be making any money nowadays.

P.S: Plus you don't need the best updated version of Photoshop to make absolutely jaw-dropping amazing artworks. I have a friend who only has PS6 and he makes the best things ever - even though PS6 does lack a lot of features. It's all about the skills and creativity. It'll be nice to have another active member back at CX though. Woots, props to you for coming back :)

It takes a long time to get better with your work and developing your skills. I think I've been using Photoshop for around a year and a bit or more. I pretty much know my way around Photoshop but I still suck when it comes to making stuff, a lot.

I'm starting to ramble :D but yeah, I'm sure a lot of people here can help you. Do you go on DG as well? I've seen your name somewhere before..

DG?? iv actually been on climb-x for well over a year now, just lost interest in PS now i want to get back in it, some of the work ive already seen here is like WOW unbelievable, just amazing stuff....... i ride BMX Bikes so i want to learn alot of photo manip and stuff so i can edit my movies n pics......

The only free image editor I know of is The Gimp. &It sucks, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Your version of photoshop scarcely affects your work. Personally, I also use ps7, cause imo it's the easiest to handle, especially compared to CS2 which I think has terrible controls.
Your work is generated from your creativity and practice, and unless you have some ancient PS2 or something, you shouldn't be so quick to purchase a newer version.

Yeh ive not really noticed a difference in the PS version 7 and CS, excpet u can download more brushes (even tho i now use defaults only) and you can change the smudge settings, thats mainly why i switched

yeh PS7 should be gd enough for most things... the only thing i use in CS which i couldnt in 7 was the extra smudge settings. but just stick at designing and u will get better.

yer just all the awsome brushes i c r all these updated programs or wateva i dont really no, i got some of metals brushes though they r mad

Limited brush downloads can do you some good because I remember losing all of my brushes once and have been forced to experiment with more of the filters on Photoshop instead of using downloaded brushes - it really helped me with improving my skills and all. Well, it helped me anyway.

I've seen a lot of brush packs that works for PS7 and above though.. on devart.

yer, thing is i cant decide on wat brushes i need and for wat?? like i havent made a sig for a while dont no what styles renders anything, use to like the army special forces, shit and grunge but yer........... DONT NO :(

I don't know, I usually open up Photoshop and mess around with the background until something cool forms up before I find a render and stuff. You could read more tutorials, find some cool techniques and mix them together and look around for inspiration. No idea, lol..

ive been looking at a blank canvas all nite and i still dont no wat i want to do.........

Pick a stock you like, start messing around if you don't lke the final product, bin it, all practise is good practise, i have made at least double the amount on my photobucket oages (around 8 pages) in sigs i just didnt like and binned... experiment have some creativity

yeh find a stock u like then muck around with it... its the best way.

Grab some techniques from tuts aswell and use them in your sig.. thats a good way
