Need a good PC RPG

I'm getting rid of my Xbox, traded it for an iPod photo (good deal as far as i'm concerned). My copy of Fable is going off along with my xbox though, so now i'm left with my PC. I'm looking for something similar to Fable, an RPG that's mission based with some realtime action. I liked Diablo and Diablo II but the visual were kind of hard for me to get into. Pretty much any kind of game that you have to build up your character from scratch basically, buy stuff, find stuff, that kind of thing. Even like a Gran Turismo type game, so long as I have to work to build up my character. Any ideas?

Maybe world of warcraft or that new guild wars thats coming out?

GW is freaking awesome dude, i suggest that. alongside that is morrowind and the icewind dales were pretty freaking awesome as well. also if you wanna pay everquest is fun, but if i were you i'd get Guildwars instead, no monthly fee :p

its not really a "Fable" type game, but wait till Age Of Empires III comes out.
That game is gonna be the shit..bar none, the graphics are jaw dropping and the most realistic game in the series.

I got some good racing games for PC, but some of them requires a wheel.

- Grand Prix Legends (be sure to download the graphics update, wheel is essential)
- Racer (totally free, only works with wheel)
- Live For Speed (very good multiplayer racing, better to race it with wheel)

As for RPG stuff.

- Fable (it's coming to PC, and they say it's better than the Xbox version)

The downside to GW is that doesn't your character max out at level 20? Not sure how hard the levels are though...If your not strapped for cash I would suggest WoW, If you can afford it.

argh, you guys are all bastards. Taunting me with games that are _going_ to be coming out. I need a game fix immediatly! ;) I checked out GW, it looks okay but i'm not too big on online RPG's, I tend to not get along well with others.

well, yea it does have a 20 cap, but when i played it i played for like 1.5 hours alone and it was fun as hell and i got up to level 2 after like an hour :p. so its pretty hard, and once you get to level 20 it goes to guild warfare, so you get in a guild and play pvp, thats what the game was ment to be like. and it just came out today unit!

there are countless good rpgs for pc, it all just depends on what your taste is like. you can easily go to a game site, like IGN.com and research. The icewind dale and baldur's gate games are great if that is the kind of stlyle you want. i cant say much in the way of a fable-type game besides what these people have already said.

OH MY GOD!!! GUILDWARS IS OUT!!! Man I was playing it this morning and it is freaking incredible!! GET IT! amazing. . .

Guild Wars got really bad preview ratings, so I'm getting sort of worried. It looks good, but I wonder if it will live up to the hype =/.

World of Warcraft, Ultima Online, Lineage 2, Dark age of Camelot are all good games. Unfortunatly, you have to pay monthly for it =/.

hmm taco, thats weird. I have played it and firsthand it is amazing. So far i have only played the single player questing part of it, but i have also played the group questing part. It is amazingly fun to me

Find an Ultima Online player-ran server. Free and legal. Just download the trial, and UOGateway. I like www.uodemise.com, it has the directions to connect and all that good junk.

Hey, does anyone know anything about when or if diablo3 is gonna get released?

i dont think theyr planning on making diablo 3, diablo is blizzards and blizzard just made WoW so... :huh: diablo 2 was a great game tho :huh: :lol: man now i wanna reinstall it ;) :lol:

basically. usually they'll announce the release to be in a couple of months. so, probably mid-2006, depending on the projects state.
