Where's the o5'ers?!

I did this on one of the other boards I visited from way back when, and it seemed pretty successful. I'm not sure who all is still around, but it would be cool to see what comes of this. Mainly for 04 - 05'ers, but 06 can post too! Old school ftw!

I'll start off:

Why you joined the void: I joined because I was trying to get to know other designers. Where I was at the time (MSN Zone, etc) didn't really offer a whole lot. A buddy of mine (TacoX) who was at another board (BSfear) invited me to his forum, so I joined.

What you did back then: Student in HS


Why you are still around: I love the community, and it's amazing to see how big it's grown in the past years. I can't wait to see where it goes next!

What you do now: I'm a front-end web designer for a design / print firm and a part time geospatial imaging technician in the private sector.

Why you joined the void: I was flip-flopping between various graphics sites at the time. The community of the Void is what really made me settle here.

What you did back then: Just graduated high school, chilling outtttt

Why you are still around: I'm not into gfx as much as I used to be. It's the community that I've grown attached to.

What you do now: Studying towards a degree in Computer Science with an interest in HCI and data visualization. Finishing up an internship as a software developer at a drilling instrumentation company. Being lazy.

Wasn't very active in 05, but it was when I joined...

Why you joined the void: Was just getting into graphics and found this place and it looked like a fun place to learn some gfx.

What you did back then: Was just outta highschool


Why you are still around: It's a great community, and I have fun picking on everyone. :)

What you do now: I'm still the same asshole I was in '05, I just get away with it now. ;)

Why you joined the void: Was just getting into digital art. I was a member of another community that had died, and I found my way here through tutorials.

What you did back then: I was half way through high school, barely doing enough work to graduate high school.

Why you are still around: I got bored at work and felt like looking this place up to see if its still around.

What you do now: I work full time as a web designer, and am currently going to school for graphic design.

I feel left out.

Why you joined the void: I was looking for a place to get feedback and learn digital graphics in general, to get better!

What you did back then: Student, something like highschool, but the system is different here ;D

Why you are still around: Why shouldn't I ? Because no other forum ever survived or kicked ass as much as gfxvoid!

What you do now: pff, working. day in and day out. I guess I'll start working on my dream carreer soon enough ^^

Why you joined the void: I was looking up sig tuts, and found this place. I used some of the tuts, and decided to join out of courtesy.

What you did back then: HS student. Eh.

Why you are still around: Well, for a year I wasn't. I left because I needed to concentrate on my studies instead of the internet. I started working in PS again and here I am.

What you do now: lol Nothing. I'm a HS graduate, though. Going into college in 2 months.

What you did back then: HS sophomore, taking a computer graphics intro course.

Why are you still around: Yeah.

What you do now: Freelance work, currently doing backend stuff for a recycling company. Sophomore undergrad - planned major in Computer Science and/or Mathematics.
