I like your overall style of making sigs, effects are pretty nice, but you could lower the opacity of your light source, because it's too bright on Santa's face.

Effects are really nice IMO

The lightning is too strong. Try to town down it a bit.

Hmm, i don't if it will help you, but try New layer -> Image -> Apply image and then burn it

yeah, i'd be very careful of images coming from Deviant. Make sure you have permission from the artist first.;)

For the tag, looks good but your light source is in the wrong place. should be coming from the bottom left..check the shadows;)
