Abstract! Must see!

just because it has a render doesn't mean its not abstract.
you dont know how i made it, its abstract.

I have a pretty good idea of how you did. usually something is considered abstract if it has little or no recognizable subject. however yours has a person as the main subject matter of the piece and she's in full view, not abstracted at all. personally i'd say this is the exact opposite of abstract work, but that's just me. carry on lol

you my friend should not worry about the title of the thread and worry about whats inside..

Well it DOES matter because he obviously doesn't realise it's NOT abstract. As for the piece try to blend your subject in more and try to do something more than brush the bg and add a texture:) also work on your colour pallette:D

1) Its not abstract

2) You are supposed to be behaving here, you cant say gtfo to anyone, this is a public community, anyone can come and say their part, its a different thing if they are using abusive or such language, and if you want no one to care about the title, then dont make title's to attract crowd or something. And yah abstract art is a different field, just coz you brushed around randomly doesn't make it abstract. and this is definitely not abstract.

3) for the Cnc part:
the back ground is pretty cool and matches the color of your subject, but those brushes are unwanted, attempt to blend the render in, i can see you brushed with the same color as the stock at the bottom left. Try to make some defined shapes on stock and blend them in the background, that will make it look better.

Them telling you it's not abstract *is* CnC. ( their critique is that - in their view - it is not abtract). And I would be inclined to agree. Abstract is open to interpretation: this is just you wanting to make a cool picture of a chick.
The colours are nice and it's executed okay, but the subject matter is somewhat arbitrary for my taste. Sorry.

Whether YOU think its abstract or not, just give the guys some GOOD CnC. If you feel "its not abstract" is necessary to be said, fine, but don't let that be the only thing said. CnC is meant to be helpful to the artist, if you do not understand that, please read this: http://www.gfxvoid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53712. As far as Im concerned, telling him "its not abstract" is not GOOD CnC.

To you masses out there, there is such a thing known as conceptual abstract pieces. I think it fits into that category. I'm inclined to agree with some of the comments here BUT I'm open to the opinion of it being called an abstract and will judge it nonetheless.

Colours are a bit meh for me mate. I can see you were going for somehting like modelling perhaps? Well, the text isn't bad in my eye and the texture is nice but everything else seems too random. The brushing is inconsistent.

^lol at the whole abstract/non abstract issue. its not that big a deal, just a thread title. The piece is ok, I like the idea. keep workin on it tho it has more potential fo sho. good use of brushing in bg to help flow, it might also help to have some foreground brushing as well to add some depth.

i don't feel this one. You have two concepts going on... one is the nature one and two is the brushes, but... they don't mix at all. Now if you could give those brushes that (rock)texture, then they would really looked painted on that stone. (and that would rock, lol)

Looks nice... maybe, the background is abstract and lady gaga is hot... lol XD
