my favorite typo from you :)
keep it up
Shit is so cash. Srs. Mad typo there. Are there any typography tutorials you know that you have a link to?
That would be nice. Could you give a brief opinion on how you should go about typography. Sorry for the vagueness but I really don't know much about it >.>
Well. I've said this in other threads. Before you do stuff like what I've done, waaay before, you must learn and memorise the 10 Golden Rules. Moreover, you must be able to execute the 10 golden rules with absolute perfection. So concentrate on those. they may be a bit boring but every typographer keeps them in mind even when they're throwing them to the four winds.
Other than that just buy books such as 'The 10 commandments of Typography' 'The Barnbrook Bible' 'Stop Stealing Sheep' 'The Art of Looking sideways'. All of these things will inform your later rulebreaking :)
Mad typo! Long back when i first heard the term typography, i tried doing this, and failed miserably. geniusly executed.
Updated slightly to make the main text smaller for desktops and killed a typo:
Here
Pure beautiful! It looks so professional, like some kind of poster :D
A tut of some kind would be more than welcome soap ^u^
No. I won't show you how to do this. I'll tell you why.
I wont show you how to go about making this sort of thing until you've first learned to memorise and execute the rules of typography. The above is hideous rule-breaking of this rules and it would be pointless for me to show you how to break the rules unless you know WHY you're breaking the rules and what those rules are.
It's the same with most tutorials on the internet, especially the C4D ones. They show you how to make some fancy abstract render, but never give you any information about the rules, so you just regurgitate and modify it in a mechanical process without knowing why you're doing it.
When I can see some work from ya'llz that shows me you understand the rules of typography, I'll show you how to break'um perfectly. I'm not being an asshole here, I'm just trying to help you become better designers/typographers by giving you all of the information about what you want me to show you, rather than just give you a mechanical process to follow that you wont understand fully.

Can't wait to see what you start to come up with :P
THats not some bad reasoning at all Soap. I'll be sure to take a look.
A question though: You know those type of typography you see on DA where people make like super cool text effects and such. Do you consider that good typography?
Agrees with TK!
Here's my first try at a typo sig without reading the rules. Note, first typo ever for me.

Soap be totally honest about your opinions please ^u^
I bet clip.msks were involved!
How much bets I'm right?
Its looks pretty nice and simple to me though I can't some of the letters too clearly.
Text effects are just text effects. The best typography in all the world uses none. People just like to add pezzazz but adding text effects to bad typography still makes it typography and vice versa, the effects are really a non-entity (which is why I always say they're unecessary).

If you notice, none of them (all of them beneath the line are from Industry Professionals) use text effects simply because they don't need to.
Do research! I cannot stress this enough. If you don't know anything about famous typographers you'll never be any good at typography. Look up:
The rule givers:
Eric Gill
Eric Spiekermann
Herbert Bayer
Derek Berdsall
Mathew Carter
Adrian Frutiger
Jonathan Hoefler
Paul Renner
The Rule Breakers:
David Carson
Edward Fella
Jeff Keedy
Stefan Sagmeister
Jonathan Barnbrook
Michael Worthington
Phil Baines
Alan Kitching
Vince Frost
Barry Deck
Nevill Brody
Use Papyrus as the typeface ;) Trust me on this.

Only when you're bored? :(
not gonna lie, seeing your work and the insight shared in this thread has made me acknowledged typography as something more than just words, however, I'm more centered with:
pwnfuse.deviantart.com
Check out my DA to see what I like. I just wanna improve on my works and such. Not to mention I got loads of work from college, I don't lots of time on my hands. So lets say like when I want to do something different from vector art (scenery and abstract), I might give my shot at Typography. I'll play close attention to the guidelines you set as well but right now, I'm more into this.
Get where I'm coming from?
:( i want a 102x768 version. I love this, can you give me a 1024*768 version>?
