A site im working on

OK, im making this layout kinda just for fun. this is a business my b/f owns he has tons of clients but no site yet... and hes totally busy so he cant design one himself. I think if its good enough he might use it... so let me know your honest opinion so i know whether or not I'm going to pitch it to him. Let me point out that the navigation will have roll overs, and i just threw those banners together to fill up space it hasnt been sliced or coded yet so of course there will be a ton of other things added later. Please lemme know what you think of it thus far! Thank you =)

I like it overall, like the bright colors, kinda retro-ish. It all depends on if thats the look he's goin for or not. Looks good IMO though.

thats really sweet, good job, i presonally wouldnt have ads like that, but if they are wanted then its cool (i would use google adsense) i like the retro feel :)

Deep Blue.. it is a banner ad design website... so a few of his new banners will be featured on the front page so when ppl visit the site they get a small taste of what the portfolio has to offer =)

LoL yes, well... actually thats CHEAP! He does alot of business for adult webhosting and plain webhosting...those banners are usually around 50 bucks a peice or so.. depending on the complexity of the design. sometimes they're even more though. yeah i dont get it either...but shhhh dont let the company's know this is easy money for him LoL

so... if he sold 4 (at $50 ) a week, he could make $10k a yr ontop of a nromal job, unles this is his normal job

He makes alot more than 4 a week usually ppl buy in bulk, most of his clients buy atleast 5 at a time. And hes a full time student so this is only job at the moment... its not too shabby...especially since he gets paid to do something he loves!

yeah thats really cool, i mean it must only take him like 30mins-1hr for each (no offense again, they are pretty easy but do require immagination) and if he likes doing it then its great

yeah he does them pretty quick... i made the 2 on the site they're pretty basic... his are much better LoL im not too good at animation or anything really

hmmm green isn't my fav colour... but thats just me... most prob. some deep down phsycological weird crap to do with my gender roles and threats to my musculanity as to why i dont like that flavour of green, so dont read much into it.

The layouts pretty kewl, though i dont know why you have the blue box overlaying the orange one.

In all honesty its a very clean layout which is perfect for that style of site i reckon. oh, i would extend the orange box to cover the full height on that side (the news one that is). Also i would move the blue/aqua one a tad to the left and fill the space (with maybe some white space consistant with the rest of the design).

Thanx for the reply Metal and the advice. I have the boxes overlapping because of the design element in the header, wanted it all to flow..they're supposed to represent the different banner sizes or what not. The left side will probably have something to fill it once everything is said n done, but if not i was thinking about expanding that box a little to take up more space over there with a little more detail about the packages err something lol. Im not really sure what all he would want to have on the front page of the site. But thanx again for the help! I really appreciate it.

I really like the layout, smooth and simple. Great job! thats crazy how much money he makes. A little overrated if you ask me, but thats awesome!! good job!

Well, looks like I'm going to have to break the mold here. I, for one, don't like it. There's no direction for the eye to move. It just kind of hangs at the top of the page. The colors are overly bright, and the white seems like blank space instead of a white background. It seems incomplete to me.

Thats because it is incomplete =) its not sliced, or coded, and it has absolutely NO content ... thanx though =)
