I like the background in the first one better, if you put the text from the second one on the first one i think it would look cool.

I agree with Tyson. The first background is better than the second, but the text of the second is better than the first.
great job on the borders but i think they take away from whats inside just my opinion though ;)
gj, try adding animation to like the text, make the text stumble against the border, or make the border do something techy like.
