Gothic Abstract Tutorial

Hay!
I've been surfing around this board for some while and decided to register now.
This is my first tutorial ever, so I don't know how good it is.

It's pretty simple, but I think the outcome looks nice =)

Let's get started.

First of all create a new document 250X250.
Fill the background black.
Now go to Filter - Render - Lens flare and use brightness 100%, lens type 50-300mm Zoom.
Place six lens flares around the document like this -

Now go to Filter - Blur - Radial Blur and use these settings: Amount - 100, Blur Method - Zoom, Quality - Best.
Press Ctrl+f 3 times.
You should now have something like this -

Now duplicate the layer twice.
Highlight your background layer (the very bottom one) and go to Filter - Disort - Twirl and put angle to 200.
Then go to your second layer and go to Filter - Disort - Twirl and put angle to -200. Then go to the second layers blending options. (To do so double-click the layer) and set it's blending mode to Lighten.
Now double click your third layer (the top one) and set it's blending mode to Difference.

And there you have it, a nice gothic abstract background.
Your final product should look something like this -

It's really easy to do, only about a 5 minutes job the most.
But it looks pretty ok =)

But u should add some more light on the img
i think u can do this by presing Ctrl+U and there u should add some light...
Also for first tut it is indeed good dude hope to c more good tut from u...

Lol, I thought about doing some lighting on it, but I liked it dark and gothic like that ,)

Also, I was going to make another tut today, but then I got a little too busy and I'm too lazy to make it now ;P

also something that forgot to say is that
u can keep also the 2nd img as an super nova or something like that
and just add some brightness and contrast (i added few bright and some contrast
u can play if u want with the numbers...)
also i added some saturation and the results were indeed good u can try if u want.....

not a big fan of gohics but i guess its nice, nj, lighten it up a lil ;)

I'm making a new more of an abstract background tut today.

you should figure out a way to get just the symbol so its just like the symbol in solid white/black. Also, platonikos, could you please remove your current sig. there is nudity in there.

Actually, I just saw the one with nine lens flares, and right above it, it said "six lens flares"

Lol, I never notissed that ... Oh well, you get the picture ,)

I&#39;m trying out different brushing/filter combined background now.

I may make a new tut today. Been busy with school lately =)

you know, you can go back and edit your post to say nine.

I like this a lot, it also looks pretty cool chromed and have the colors changed a bit.
