Not bad, not bad, i think i forgot to mention, but try holding shift when doing the border, render needs to blend a bit more, so id try to lighten the stars
yea the border kept like starting over when i would take my time to make it straight so i just like hurried through that. how do i lighten the stars more?
wait i think i did it. hows this?

Try setting them on colour or linear dodge, aswell, lower the oppacity of any dark layers, and the stars
yea hows that now?
ok i think i did it now. how is this?http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/9423/halosig.jpg
Better, but its a bit odd how theres a glow round the halo guy
I tell you what, in the morning im gonna work on the sig, an i'll give u a link to a psd for it (learning purposes only!)
yea the glow was from the smudging part of the edges. i guess i didnt do that part right. cause then when i set it to pinlight, it did that. so idk. maybe i didnt do the smudging right?
I dont remember smudging, lol, i'll have to revisit my work and give you some smudge settings
yea it said something about smudging the edges and thats wut i did and that would explain the glow. yea well i did it yet again. i got rid of the glow this time. hows it look now? im trying to do it myself without the psd. idk i guess its a pride thing. i want to be able to do it by myself. well anyway, this is wut it looks like now:

I'm ganna say it and I will feel bad about it but here goes, I say this only because I wish for you to improve (and everyone can always improve no matter who they are)
That tutroial is only really good for teaching purposes (sry Spartan killer >.<)
He is showing some really good starting places to learn some things about photoshop and what it can do but those stocks and the outcome really need to be picked better/improved/or blended more.
Like I said there are some nice tricks you can use in some signatures but put all together the way it was is poor :(
Good for you for trying and keep it up because you as well as anyone else can make some really beauty!
The best thing I can say here is don't give up and keep playing around with that you know and don't stop learning :)
Again I'm not trying to be mean but I am trying to shed some light so you can have more than one opinion.
yea thats fine. but wut do u think of the one i just made? like the last one on the post before urs?
your learning:D /claps keep at it ^^
lol thanks. how should i improve if i should on this sig or maybe i will start making another sig and see how things look on that one
One of my favorite things to do with making sigs is clipping mask and blending
If I was you anyways I'd get rid of the boarder and settle on something simple like a solid black line because you want ppl to notice your hard work with the actual render an not a boarder :)
I would get rid of the star stock ( or at the least tone it down) and I would go for something more to work with like a dead city or a desert or a havoc on fire kind of feel.

or something like this

Don't be afraid to play with these either go ahead an turn them upside down or sideways, ANYTHING goes when it's your art :D
Sry I couldn't pass you to the actual pics, I got them a while ago some place and don't remember from where >.<
And these are just some ideas to get you on your way to a cleaner more shocking sig ^^ If you don't know what clipping mask is I will link you a thread later to show you how to do it :)
KIU<3
yea i know how to do clipping masks sorta. i mean it was a bit confusing when i did them yesterday for the first time because i followed a special tutorial for clipping masks but it didnt turn out so well. but ill be giving it another try again soon because i think i know wut i messed up on. yea i had a stock image of like this thing that was hard to explain and then i added 2 star stocks along with that one stock. but yea ill hopefully improve with each sig.
thanks for ur feedback :)
I had a real hard time the first couple times I was doing clipping and what I always messed up on was I would forget to hide the "splatter" layer before making an copy image.
Also another thing that could be going against you in a clipping mask is too much splatter at once, do little splatters and than copy than do another one with a little splatter. If you try to do all the splatter at once it just comes out bad :)
haha yea thats how i was messing up i think. but yea ill be sure to make sure i dont mess it up when i do it again. and if i do, ill keep trying :)
Slave, please get lost! You arent really liscenced to comment on a finished peice of someones tut. And to be honest, that is a good signature that the tutorial creates. It would definately beat most if not all of your sigs. So i dont really see you in a position to say all this!
So Spartan wut u think of the one I just made? It's on one of those posts or u can see it in my signature. I got ride of the glow and everything. Wuts it like?
It looks pretty cool, i would suggest smudging something around the render (underneath) to fill that empty space
ok thanks for the advice :)
Thanks for doin my tut man :)
Sk, I was being polite and being honest about what I see here and if you think that's reason enough for you to be rude in someone else thread as well as to tell me to get lost than you really wouldn't do well with constructive criticism and maybe you should be the one to leave this section of the forums :)
I was just informing him that it was a very basic tutorial and maybe he should try using different stocks or using some different techniques to bring out his real work.
That's what c&c means.
I told him what I thought wrong with it than I informed him what I thought might help his signature more.
Constructive criticism, or constructive analysis, is a compassionate attitude towards the person qualified for criticism. Having higher experience, gifts, respect, knowledge in specific field and being able to verbally convince at the same time, this person is intending to uplift the other person materially, morally, emotionally or spiritually.
ok take it easy guys. calm down
