theres tones of diffrent ways to do it one way is mess with coloring and settings
i could probably make u a small tut on that ?> but i think one these pro's will get u straighten out right away sry i couldn't give u exact settings right off. but thats how i do it take a cd4 use the liquid tool or somtimes just the ripple filter . make 4 layers of same thing and mess with coloring and settings . color and color dodge gl i hope i ws of some help if not sry again i tried :P
thanks mate was that for the fire?
for lightning i use renders or stocks that have lightning on them. I just erase the parts i dont need and keep the goods ones. I also add a soft brush layer to make it pop.
can you send me some stocks that you use for the lightning effects in pm
and yes that was for fire effects bro
To make lighting I have to ways:
1. Using the dodge and burn tool to make the whole sig have the same lighting, including render.
2. Filter>> Render > > Lighting
Mess with the settings, if you are using Cs2 you can take an default setting named 2 o clock lighting if I'm not mistaken. that one it pretty good.
remember, I did this from my head and didn't think everything through. What did you mean with fire btw?

Pen Tool^^
Thanks for the help guys
I use stocks for my fire effects. Usually I set them to screen or ligten, then u use soft brushed to add some colour. It just gives you some of those realistic flecks of flames.
can you send me some of your stocks nutter
also for some reason i cant find the liquefy tool on cs5
for the light question: there are 2 ways I work with light and dark:
1: I add light with a soft brush, in a colour that you like the light to be, orange and purple are somewhat good colours imo... mostly the purple is a usefull light for lighting, do change the oppasity when you added the brush so it wont be to strong..
2: work with dodge and burn tool, I burn for making darker and dodge the parts that I want to be lighter, these help create light, dept and overall appeal...
Fire/Burning fx, I add mostly just soft brush orange glows to yellow and red colours, making fire on the other hand can be somewhat tricky, I use smudge mostly for those kinda fx...
pentool, wel that is alot to explain how it works, I would say go to Deviantart, type in: 'Pentool Tutorials' or 'pentool beginner tutorial', those should get you some results in beginner tutorials how it works and how you use it... if not, let me know in a pm, wil try and explain best I can how it works... ;)
Hope this solves your problems...
