Starwars Warp Tutorial

step 1: open a new document anysize but i used 500x500 pixles.

step 2: create a new layer.

step 3: fill that new layer with pure black.

step 4: go to filter>noise>add noise and use the settings 12.16 gaussian and monochromantic.

step 5:go to filter>distort>polar coordinates> and use the settings polar to rectangular.

step 6: go to image>rotate canvas>90 cw.

step 7: go to filter>stylize>wind and use the settings wind and front the right (you can do it to the left also but i like it when its from the right) and apply that 1-3 times depending on how fast you want your warp to look.

step 8: go to image>rotate canvas>90 ccw.

step 9: go to filter>distort>polar coordinates> and use the settings rectangular to polar.

step 10: zoom in a little bit or how ever much you want to make the the the ball like figure look real or crop the image (i dont know how to take a pic to show you how to do that sorry) well have fun with this tutorial and good luck.

It looks pretty good, but I think it would look better without the parts outside the circle.

It does look really nice. Maybe ill use thos one day and make a Star Wars sig or soething. God job! :)

Yeah i know the outcome was kinda weird, but i have only been doing photoshop for a few months so i'm new at it. And about the parts outside the circle, i dont know how to get rid of it sorry. Anybody have any idea's about how to go about getting rid of it?

I Think you guys should stop being so negative about this stuff. He knows he isn't the perfect designer so he doesn't need to hear it from more people.
I'm not saying lie about it and say thats it's the best tutorial you have ever seen. But if you don't like it then dont post meaning less posts that have verry little words in them. Accually don't post at all if you are just going to flame new members.

I am totally insulted at the remarks this thread recieved. I'm putting a new rule into effect because of this thread. It totally mis-represents our community.

You should post your result DE - (like a tutorial), thats badass.

hmm... dud. ive only been using photoshop for, like, 3/4 of a year and im really good at it... if you want to become good, fast the tutorials at deviantart are insanely helpful... hope i helped you with this remark

erm.. dragoneye that doesn't look like a warp it looks like a tunnel kinda. :blink:
