I'm sorry I don't really know what to say, since I really don't know much about paintings.
I think it looks okay though, maybe define tthe bottom edge a little more since it's sort of blending into the shadow right now.

If you have people on your msn that are good painters you might want to talk to them too, see what critiques they have.

Yeah you just have to get used to looking at the screen when you draw, rather than the tablet. It'll get easier.

This guy helped me climb the ropes, very easy to understand and basically tells you everything you need to know about digital painting in his videos. Watch all the parts to this digital painting, I guarantee you will learn a lot. Also being new to using a tablet don't make the same mistake I made when I started off, make sure you have the correct driver installed for your tablet so you can apply pen pressure/tilt.
