Team Member Cap: Please Read.

We have noticed the teams are becoming a bit too large latley, so we are putting a member cap on each team.

You may now only have a maximum of 20 members per team.

We are also suggesting that Team leaders keep in touch with their members and consider removing any inactive ones.

I vote to lower it even more to like 7-10

It's easier to leave it at 20 when you take a look at the current teams, trust me.

Yup, it would tear my heart a part if I had to kick about 10 members :o

I would think 15 members would be nice. Most teams are just taking everyone up. Btw. XD

Well some teams have 5 active members while some have a bajillion. So i like this idea.

When you look at the level of competition amongst teams here on the void you can notice there isn't any mostly because the ones on top keep gathering the most talented of designers, and with the chances being so unlikely of even having a chance against them they hardly ever get challenged.

A member cap will at least provoke more teams and possibly even give more opportunity towards team battles since one team would be unable to have a unique and distinct advantage of having all the talent.

Other then the cap there has been no interference with the teams and have been allowed to do their own thing but when was the last time MM has been challenged? Void Pirates? Even Club Claro hardly ever gets challenged anymore because all of these teams has some of the better designers if not most of the better designers.

I don't think limiting the teams will place any handicap towards anyone and will quite possibly leave for a better change in team activity since inactivity would mean that you might get cut for a more active designer.

Exactly. I can gaurantee you, I will never bother challenging MM or CC.

Well said, this was the very point to the cap. The "top teams" have about 20 members now, while the newer ones (that have been here for 3 mths or longer ) are still sitting at 5-7 members. Everyone wants to be a winner so noone wants to try a new team or get into a different team than the top 4 that are currently running the forum.

Kritez, no need to start name calling, this was done to better enhance the battles and get more challenges going.

We do agree, in that regard, but to stop people from getting upset and overwhelming the staff with pm's and what not we decided that because most of the teams already have this amount that we would cap it where it is and leave it at that, good point to bring up is, the bigger teams can really no longer recruit more ppl unless they themselves get rid of some of their others :P

yeah there is really no need for 20 members in a team at all since like what 6 or 7 are used at a time lol but they are so many in the groups now no need to change it to like 10 then alot of ppl would be pissed off

or they could break off and form 2 divisions, which would be completely seperate.

Teams are capped at 20. That way I am not going to have people crying to me because they have to leave a team.

Imo 11/12 would be perfect.
There are always a few members that can't make anything due to various reasons, so 7-10 might be too little for comfort.

But, I wouldn't like my current team to be cut in half, so...

Club Cario has 19 members
Midnight has 18 members
Void Pirates has 20 members
Twisted has 20 members
Turtles has 7 members
EE has 8 members

so if we cut it down to 12 members to a team who would get cut from the big teams ??? thats the big problem it would piss alot of ppl off and then they might not want to join another team after that

thats the main problem right there people dont want to go to a losing team. I personally dont mind if i had to go to a losing team..

well if people want to implement this there has to be some concessions, but i dont think people will do it.

Thank you Oats. It's pretty sad it had to be explained 20 times if ya ask me. It's really not a big deal people. We have allowed the teams to run freely. It's a 20 person cap. What of it?

Im not against anyone's say anything goes with me but putting a 20 cap is kind of pointless isn't it? If they wanted someone new they could easily just kick someone in active off and add that person and it's just going to stay the same, the winning teams like Claro and MM are going to keep on winning because they have all the good members. Just my input. : p

Again though that goes back to what I was saying about creating more activity amongst the clubs since the members that are there would probably like to stay there and not risk being kicked off the team for another designer

Guys, please stop giving your reasons for the max to be lowered. Dark Method gave his reasons why, and after the past, I do agree with him on his decision. The cap is not to balance out the teams so much as, give a limit so that some teams don't just take all the talent, and others get stuck with none.


If you are inactive for more than a little while for reasons of exams, family issues and such, and are gone for an extended length of time, you shouldn't be in a team anyways.

The team cap is at 20, end of story, no use in trying to change it, it will not happen.

I used to see this kind of convo all the time on mmo forums, the bigger clans are "undefeated" for only so long, than something bigger and better comes along, are one big clan gets tired of having "no comp" and leaves the server to find new challenges. My history with internet life tells me change is in the air, and who you feel are top dogs, won't stay that way forever. Just a matter or time either waiting them out or beating them at their own game.

Plenty of talent on this forum, and plenty of ppl are starting to hone in on their potential skills. Not trying to put anyone down here, but I remember some of TP= old name KS didn't always have such hot tags, now I find it hard to find one I don't like on their walls.

Change is coming ^^ the rise of the heroes must always at some point set and rise on new heroes stronger, more skilled and ready for blood.

I have faith in this forums teams and the will they have to get better at what they do :)

I believe that a 20 cap is good.

With a 20 cap, the "power house" teams won't be able to recruit anyone else since they are at capacity. The teams with a lot of members still haven't touched 20, now lowering the amount of people per roster to 7, 10 or even 12 is literally cutting a GFX family in half after they have worked together, developed together and even have had passionate cyber sex chats together.

Don't get me wrong, I won't be one to cause a riot if someone somehow manages to convince Method Man to cap it at 12. I will gladly take a bullet for my team and take an honorable discharge (because we're like a friggin' army) with a full pension.

yah its kinda true but at the same time people dont get as good as the better people in claro and mm overnight its takes months sometimes years.
my opinion: put it to a public vote as to the member cap for teams. (personally i would like to see it almost halved..)
now this next idea is a little out there but elect 4-5 good designers who would like to be a team leader as team leaders, this would mean they arent all so grouped together and makes it more fun and challenging IMO.

Gonna close this off here to stop any flaming and arguments.

The simple reason why we are capping the teams is that we are noticing some of them are getting quite large. We are not interfering with the competitions, nor are we actually trying to control them, it is more of a recommendation that more then 20 would be unnecessary.

To be quite honest I don't see what the big drama is. Most teams probably don't use 100% of their members so if anything this is an incentive to stay active on the team, and by staying active you are keeping the team comp more alive.
