What is the best anti virus?

Hey brothers , i just want to ask what is the best antivirus available? im currently using symantec but it uses a lot of memory although its effective, my pc runs slow specially my memory is about 2gigs.. any recommendations? thanks in advance..

norton antivir works good

not too sure, maybe Spyware doctor, works fine for me,
dont get AVG though cuz thats a trap

Hows it a trap, i've used avg ever since i've had my computer and it works fine and my computer is over 2 years old :p

Gives you fake virus pop ups, and its almost impossible to remove due to them wanting you to keep buying it, i guess...just dont get the avg trail

I use Trend Micro Pro. My computer hasn't had a virus since.

Kaspersky :)

AVG free download, trend micro or node 32.

Stay away from Norton and McAffee.

I use norton. Its great

I say Avira andtivirus. It's free, it works, it doesnt take resources like Norton and Kaspersky does. You could add a combo of Avira Antivirus + Malwarebytes Anti Malware. That works the best imo.

I use avast and avg. I clean my comp with CCleaner. Never had a virus :D.

Exactly what I use. I've had viruses before and these two detected and got rid of them.

ESET NOD 32 INTERNET SECURITY.
CCleaner to clean my computer.

Norton Anti Virus is dabes

No antivirus is the best.

Thanks for the info.. i am currently using the new windows security free download, does all i need and it's FREE! and no virus for now.. if it does occur ill try eset..

I used to have around 3-6 viruses when I had Mcafee then I got my self BitDefender total security 2011 it found 1000 or more viruses ;_; ye I love my anti virus no bitchin around but the thing is that it takes 800MB ram when its just there on BG

If you have windows, windows offers a free anti-virus and fire wall now.

Yes, infact as long as your security is updated no problem at all... :)

Kaspersky and Nod32 had the best test results about a year ago, not sure on which is best now.
As for free ones Avira came out best in that test, though in a more recent test surprisingly enough the standard windows defender came out best lol.
These tests were all found in discussion threads on the dutch tweakers.net and came from reliable sources.
My personal recommendation would be Avira Antivir.

nod 32 by far most imo

kaspersky is best according to my experience but it should be premium not free version...
