Forum Updates for everyone

I have a few quick updates I would like to share with you all.


First, I am currently working on a dev copy of GFXVoid. For those that are not aware of what it is, it is an exact copy of the forum, but it includes a Content Managment System and blogs, but is considered a "test" copy of the site.
I'll be working on it for the next week or so and hopefully it will be installed here on the live site in the very near future.

The smiley issue is also being looked into but until a possible security issue is addressed, these will not and cannot be updated.

The Funny Sig Comp will be returning also shortly and will have it's own category that will contain one board with the rules and the comps, another forum that will contain the voting and lastley one more forum that will host the winners of each competition. Fork will be running the competitions and will be sorting out the various details with the help of myself and Apathy, if needed.

You should also give us the option to use spoilers ....

Why? So you can put 100 images and videos into a spoiler code and have them all in your signature space? I don't think that's gonna happen tbh.

spoilers are nice but it will get abused so no to them for sure

I like spoilers to, but ineed with rules like not more than 4 images.
but they are nice for tuts and stuff.

Abusing spoilers? Smh .....

It would be nice so we could use them to y'know, show our gifts without having to get relinked to another site.

spoiler is very useful with tutorials, portfolios and large images so i'd suggest we add that :)

with the gifts thats why we have albums and with LPs and tuts i understand that but some would put like 400 images in there sig space and abuse it

I know you work hard and stuff but couldn't you at least give it a chance to see how it goes? Like for a week?
I mean I haven't seen it abused once at any other GFX forum I am on. Gaming forums? Yes. But not a GFX

Good. Shut up already, this isn't a suggestion thread. It's what is happening behind the scenes while others sit back and complain like a 9 year old wanting a gummy bear, or maybe they lost their soother.

There was. It was locked because it became a list of demands, just like this one is turning into. Knock it off before I have to lock this one as well. This is an update topic that I was decent enough to let you in on, not a spam fest and list of demands.

I happen to agree with the guys on the spoilers. In order to introduce spoilers on a GFX site, there would have to be stricter signature limits introduced and I don't think you guys would like that at all. Everytime a page loads, all the images within the spoilers have to load as well, so it takes up a lot of bandwidth and terrible for slower connections. Can't have that. lol.

Honestly, I dunno why you guys don't use a rotating signature host anyway.

There are good connections, bad connections, wal-mart connections, but what you're describing is a slow-as-fuck connection.
