Photoshop Layering at its finest :P

ok so i got bored and decided i would do some random rendering then layering to make an extremely short(about 5 minutes) profile picture which I am updating to my profile pic as its a lil better as my other one xD

You can CNC if you want but i just wanted to show this cause it looks ok for just layering and not actually putting much effort into it :D

Looks pretty sloppy for 3 years practise even in 5 minutes, pretty much all I see is a stock BG, render with a copy underneath it with lowered opacity and filter -> clouds on the bottom that don't even go with the colour scheme.. try adding some foreground effects that go with your stock.

lol first off you pulled a quote from another post i made, second i said this is just laying as it i got bored and threw something together for the hell of it there are literally 5 different layers, 2 are just random wallpaper things i made/edited then the cloud is off another photo, and the other 2 are just the render, i didnt put any effort into this what so ever. so i dont plan on adding anything to this cause this was made for pure entertainment

haha well as i said first image i dont care about and the second image is more around 9 months after i got photoshop so keep that in mind

i literally LOLd at this! xD and honestly i dont mind what they say but everyone needs to keep in mind though someone may have been using Photoshop for a certain amount of years or how ever long that not everyone can put alot of time into their work as for me, i am in my final year of college so i have had maybe a couple hours a day to play around on photoshop and i have only used photoshop about 145 times max so i think my work is pretty well for not using photoshop all that ofter in an amount of 3 years :D

I'm surprised you keep such a record of your photoshop usage.

lol I actually do :D im OCD so that is one of the weird thins i do is count how many times i have used my computer programs i have used safari over 5000 times, makes me feel like i have no life but i am in college soooo ya XD

Second one doesn't even look real.

Dodge & Burn tools are your friend, and so is the puppet warp tool.

everyone is such a critic :P thanks for the tips but considering that was done 9months after i started Photoshop i think that is impressive... for only having the program for 9 months that is xD

besides you need some humility to keep you from being cocky :P

You should take more pride in the work you produce, even if you say you didn't put any effort into it. That 1st sig looks absolutly terrible for 3 years of practice. Even if you did not put any effort into it the sig, it should at least have basic blending or at least having the background the same shade and colour as the render. I remember reading this in a book, The fastest way to improve is to accept that you suck and then you identify the ways you may improve.

9 months is a long time I think it could have been better.

Reading the thread from start to finish it seems like just an argument over who knows better from certain people

Respect eachother and crits and everyone will improve from reading one/anothers ideas and everyones reasoning for using certain things.

The 1st pic should go back to the drawing board, and the 2nd pic is bizzare, the hands look Very unreal + the face cracking just looks out of place,

Practice practice practice is all i can say.

I just call'em as I see'em.

I thank you all for your Crit i am not trying to make it seem like i am know more or anything like that, but 9 months for that 2nd one is good for me as it is hard for me to learn something new, i know it is not great and I know it needs improvement, the 1st one was just some random stuff which if i had not been bored probaly would have actually tried on thank you all for your opinions and all though either way :)
