Not sure about this smudge.

Hey, first time i've used photoshop in about 3 weeks. what do you think?

Not my style. Nothing to say rly, although the ends of the blue lines are fading out to the side, i would not let them fade. Looks... Hm... Idk weird? How to call it? Displaced? Just change that

Something about this is so fucking nice, but the quality is too low. Some of the smudging looks cheap, like you can tell it's just a simple smudge job. But something about the contrasting colors/styles I love.

Dolce, you're right, this is a simple smudging, but i think it looked cool.

I would've made the left side smuding, end in the botton corner, and the right in the top corner
just to add some more flow to it

Too much negative space, the smudging is pretty plain and boring doesn't really pull me in at all, just looks like a render slapped onto a black background with various brushing on it as opposed to smudging. Smudge tags still need to have good lighting and depth. which are two main things you missed here. In all honesty, I'd scrap it and start over.
