Phpbb or InvisionPowerBoard?

Since I dont know where this topic fits in so i thought i'd create in this section, probably best fit in this one........so

Um, which you guys think prefer or better? If so, why?

i cant really decide but heres my list (best to worst)

IPB cause its much easier to use(in my opinion) and its got a lot of customibillity.....well, things you can add and stuff.

I&#39;ve heard great things about both IPB and phpBB. I think phpBB is the more powerfull of the two though, and there are billions of mods for it that do almost anything you can ever want (and some more). phpBB is a little more complicated I think though, and a lot of the stuff you have to do in the actual PHP instead of the Admin CP. If we want something big changed over at my forums, we need to ask our PHP specalist to do it...

Never used IPB before, but I want to give it a try because their default smilies are 9681354521486 times cooler than phpBB.

Invision is easiest to hack where as vbullitin is nearly impossible, i&#39;ve never had any experience with phpBB. Vbullitin is most secure but IPB has a better admin package.

IPB...More options and its alot simpiler to use that PHPBB

I like invision board. Why? Because the smileys don&#39;t look like absolute crap.

And because all the good forums I have been to use IPB. Not a big fan of phpBB, I haven&#39;t been to a forum that uses it that I liked the layout off.

vBulliten IS the best from a power POV but it is not easy to use, and doesnt look that good

Ya i know vbulletin is best but costs too much lol.....

its not that good for looks or people who visit the board tho

I think I&#39;m going to try phpbb first.....i dunno, or ipb first...

VBB sucks monkey balls >.< I&#39;d go with IPB, having more experience with it, but phpBB is also funky :)

Hmm i would lean to PHBB only cause its what I know. From what I have seen of IPB it has a few bugs, which aint that good considering they&#39;re trying to be commercial about it.

Well it also depends on what you are using it for. I have been on many forums but none with VBulletin. Out of IPB and PHPBB, I think IPB is more customizable and there&#39;s alot more add-ons for it. PHPBB is awesome to but as XRedBlazeX said, it&#39;s hard to customize things.

Heres My Take on it

Phpbb = A monkey could hack into one
Vbulliten = Nice, Customizable but WAY too much money also it&#39;s nearly impossible to hack.
IPB = Nice, Very easy to customize it&#39;s hackable though
XMB = For me is the best, Customizeable, Pretty secure...Only thing is, If your not very experienced in php sql etc... You&#39;ll struggle installing and modifying. :)

The best bit about XMb... It&#39;s free so long as you have your own hosting :P

IPB. I love the interface and all that, even if it does have bugs and gets hacked easily. phpBB is good, and mor powerful, but I just don&#39;t like it.
