My biorthday is coming up and I am at a loss for what to ask from my parents.
My Xbox just broke so I thought I might get a PS2 or a Gamecube... but does anybody have any other suggestions?

don't get a game system, the new series' are coming out soon. It'd be a waste of money. ask for an ipod mini or something. or ask for a donation to a charity in your name, that'd be nice.
I'm getting an mp3 player or money to play poker or to invest in stocks for my birthday. :)
I wouldn't get a game system either. I'd ask for money to save for one or some of the new systems on the way.
Just ask for CASH. Trust me. lol.

A gift card for a game place. So you can buy the newer ones when they come out.
But those American Express cards are just as good as cash, and you can order stuff online with them. Win-win.
Don't get a game console, and DON'T get an iPod... iPods are horriblly build machines. An MP3 player would work though, or save up for a laptop or somethin hehe.
A car would also be nice if you don't have one.

get a creative labs mp3 playa, much better, much more effiecient, look better, and are overall better and cost less (meaning you can get something else)

Hell no, ipods are amazing. I've tried out multiple mp3's and ipods are the best for many reasons. And DB, that player just plain sucks compared to an ipod. It only has 5GB, probably isn't as small as an Ipod. The features suck, i don't like the button layout. Screen isn't that great, and iPod has better warranties and repair and Customer service etc.Quote:

if you want good sound, then you buy creative labs products, they have the best sound ever
and nate, the Zen Micro is WAY smaller than the iPod mini, and Zen Neon is smaller than an iPod

Creative Labs Zen Micro: 3.3 x 2.0 mm x 0.7 mm
Apple iPod mini: 3.6 x 2.0 x 0.5 inches

That probably means Creative has their "base" there. I mean, why would they send it there if they could just fix it here in Sweden?

The micro is small, but crappy prices. Over $200 for a 6MB. And what do you mean by sound???? Sound quality is all the same in the players, it's the earphones that matter buddy :p. And ipods have excellent battery as well. I used a zen touch before though, and this is my only experience with a zen, and the battery died after 2.3hoursQuote:

and if were talking bout big boys, you can get a 60gb zen for like $200 too :)
My Zen Touch's battery can last more than one day with almost constant playing. You're battery must have been broken or something. :PQuote:

And I think that Apple has extended the battery time for their latest iPod model or something. I think it used to be like 10 hours and now it's 18 or something.
Trust me Minor, you don't want an iPod. All iPods, except the old ones, are extremely fragile and frail. I've seen them dropped from pocket-height onto a cement ground and then never be able to work again. The screens have been reported to crack easily and almost randomly.
Those are more then rumors, though there are rumors such as the iPod's battery not being designed to last more than two years (after which, the warranty expires). I've known people who have had experience with this as well, though it could just all be a coincidence.
Either way, you're safer off buying a less expensive MP3 player from a less popular company that gives you the same, if not better, results as an iPod.

and if you're going for mp3 player, try the Creative Zen and or Zen Micro. Voice recording, contact information, radio, and it also acts as a partial hard drive so you can plug it into any computer with USB 1.1 and 2.0 and it'll look like a hard drive. Way better than the IPod. And battery? My zen lasts about 12 hours before i have to recharge it, it's awesome.
I would say get cash and when you think of something you want, spend it on that.
That is not true buddy. I have seen ipods bashed repeatedly. My friend dropped his like 5 times in a minute and it didnt even skip. However, they will break if you drop them and the screens will break as well, but that's the same with all mp3's buddy. Sorry, but they are just as good as any other. I have tryed offbrand mp3's, and i know one, by rio, that was dropped like 5 inches onto a table. Something jolted and it never worked again.Quote:

BTW, you guys have convinced me that ZEN is better than iPod. I am gonna get a zen now ;). The radio, and voice recording, and harddrive, and contact list sounds awesome. Now, which should i get? Micro? Neeon? I want good storage but still fairly small and decent price.
The newer iPods are exceptionally fragile... I don't have much experience with other MP3 players, but my old 1st or 2nd generation iPod (the sides aren't even rounded) has been put through a hell of a beating, one that I know the newer ones couldn't handle. To be fair, this thing weights twice as much as the regular new iPods B) ... it's a beast. I'll put some pictures up if I can find a camera laying around somewhere.Quote:

btw, heres a story for you, my friend borrowed sum1s iPod, left in pocket with some change, got it out and the screen was broken, the iPod wouldnt work, he had to buy the dude a new one, meaning that just a pound coin hitting it messed the whole thing up
