HELP!

I'm making my first ImageReady sig and I want to make a fade in effect. The problem is, when I delete a layer in the first frame, so I can have it fade in in the next frame (motion tween added), it deletes that layer from every frame. How can I stop this?!!!! Please help!!!!!

Your not suppose to delete the layer, you're suppose to click the "little eye" that's next to the layer.
