Uhh, not sure if you guys will know anything about this, I'm just posting this on a bunch of forums I'm a member of, but I have a..*cough* little problem... I CAN'T OPEN FOLDERS!!!! Whenever I double click a folder, it freezes the computer for a couple seconds, reloads all the desktop icons, and doesn't open. The same goes for when I try to go into 'my computer,' the search function, or any directory. It's not helping me at all, to say the very, very least. I can still browse folders and directories in Photoshop, and Divx, and others, but doesn't help me much since they can't open many things I need. Does anyone know wtf is going on? I can still obviously go on internet explorer, play games, and download stuff. Just asking you guys to see if you might know what the hell is wrong with my machine before I call tech support.

Yeh! That's happened to me before. It's an easy fix. Usually, you just shut down your comp, leave it off a min, then restart. But make sure you do a shutdown initially and not a restart. That makes the difference.

Didn't work This time when I tried to open a folder, it waited 10 seconds or so, then a box came up saying "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close" I have no idea what this DrWatson thing is! After that comes up, the machine basically freezes, and I had to restart.

    Try this:

Go to Start> Run> Type in "msconfig" , then go to the "Startup" tab and click the "Disable All" button. Then click "Apply" then "OK" then when it asks you to Restart, click restart.

Edit: my bad it's "click apply then click "close""

Should I still restart when it asks me?

Yes, or you can click exit withtout restart then restart but its better for you to just do it right away when it asks.

Alright, after I have restarted, now the box for the system configuration utility comes up again, and asks me if I want to change it back to normal. Do I do this? (Sorry, complete noob when it comes to this)

No, don't just click no and then click "don't show this again"
