Maybe for you it sucks, but for our database and for the general experience it's much better than nothing. If we didn't have this rule your sigs (and most people's too) wouldn't even get a single reply.

We hardly get more than 5 posts per thread as is. If everyone violated this rule, you would only have probably 1 reply to each thread.
