So I got some cool fonts, but in XP the "normal" installing is somehow doesn't want to work. (copy the files) Is there any freeware font utility that can preview, install and uninstall any fonts? Like a Font Commander. ( )

Or if that doesn't work, search for a freeware "font manager".

That didn't worked, and the freeware font manager search ended up in shareware font manager search. I couldn't find any freeware utilities.

Well...shareware is good enough...you're not gonna use it all the time right?

Copy the font files into Windows > Fonts then paste in there - it will install auto. Restart your Photoshop for them to get in effect (you may have to restart your computer)

For me, it's just putting the fonts in the font folder (opening the folder will install the fonts), and then I can use them in Photoshop without restarting anything.

Copying the files into the C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder should work, but I have better luck going to the Control Panel, opening the Fonts control panel, and then clicking File --> Install New Font and navigating to the font file.

But you do have to restart Photoshop to get the fonts to display in that program.
