trash the whole thing and start over.... the render and background don't go together at all.... and the text is awful... good idea with the animation, but do something with that text.

If everyone cared and nobody cried...
If everyone loved and nobody lied...
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride...
Then we'd see the day that nobody died...

Background made my eyes melt. The render is stretched and looks horrible. Change the text. Sorry dude, don't like this one.

Remember this guy is very new to grahics by the look of it so he needs detailed criticism telling him what to do not to tell him to start it over...

go to http://www.dafont.com and get some new fonts first.
Then when you done that change the text and right click the text layer and go to blending options, then try a little bevell and emboss and play with the settings.

Try blending the render a little bit, get the lasso toold (little rope thing) set it to about 10feather with that render and make a small circle, go around the edges pressing del

    OR

You can get the eraser tool, get the soft brush and set it to around 100pixels and erase the edges of the render with the edge of the brush.

Then try setting the render to luminous.

And when your doing your background go to deviantart (google it ) and get some brushes off there.

PM me or add my MSN if you want more help.

Oh yeah and rember this: although annimation may look good dont try it untill you have gotten quite good with photoshop, it just spoils siggehs in most cases.

Bevel and emboss is shit dude. Also, don't go to dafont, use fonts that are already on your computer. people get too carried away with dafont and it ruins their sigs.

Use the Lasso Tool to feather according to the size of your render, then add a layer mask. Layer masks are better than deleting because you can go back of you want to change it later. If you're going to erase parts of your render to blend it, make sure you're making a grunge sig, cause it looks like hell otherwise. And make sure you use grunge brushes to erase with, not defaults.

Luminosity is crap too, use the colors from your render to color your sig. Duplicate the render, and motion blur it, then duplicate that layer again and move it around. Keep doing that until the sig is covered. Merge the motion blured layers and apply the motion blur again, then set it to soft light overlay or hard light. Just mess with it. There are a million ways to do this, but there are also a million ways not to do this.

Another way to color your sig with the colors from your render is to make a gradient using two colors from your render that don't clash. You can even make clouds with two colors from your render, then on a new layer brush in black and white and lower the opacity of the brushing layer.

Make sure your render matches your background. Don't have a wild background and a simple looking render. Try to compare it to sigs you like and ask yourself,"Does this flow well?" If it doesn't, choose another render. You can also choose your render first, then make a sig around it. It owrks both ways. Just be creative.

As far as animations, make sure you keep it simple to start with. You'll get better.

    To summarize:
Default fonts are good. Dafont fonts are bad, (if you get carried away with them).
Feather to blend, unless it's grunge, then erase with grunge brushes. Or don't even blend, it's your show...put it on!
Use colors from your render to color your sig, not Hue/Saturation, and Color Balance sometimes is good.
Make sure your render and background match.
Keep animations simple, or better yet, don't animate.

If you need help, check out some tutorials.

EDIT: Borders. New layer, Ctrl+A to select the whole layer. Go to EDIT>STROKE and choose 1 pxl and the color black. If you want to spice it up, go to blending options and choose stroke. make it 1 pixel, and choose white. set it to soft light or overlay and play tith the opacity to taste. You can even choose a color from your sig for the inside stroke. Have fun with it!

Someone move this to the tutorial section...lol
