uhh... unless youve already played around with a SLR i highly disagree with getting a digital one.. first off...

    1) film SLR are 1/4 of price and just as good
    2) unless your professional... waste of money, get a film SLR
    3) how many of the functions on that thing do you understand?

with an SLR yes i know they're cheaper, but it'd involve me buying chemicals and making my bedroom (or when my bro moves out) into a dark room... (i want to develop them myself if i did get an SLR)
which doens't actually sound so bad, but i know how to use a camera and all of it's functions (not just a point and click at anything) also i'm going to ask around some of my dads mates see if they can give me any pro advice and shit.

I would suggest getting a Digital rebel instead. Also, Nikon makes some really nice DSLR's. Just make sure you look at every camera, the informed customer is essential.
