    Thumbs down

Ightt well here is some reason's why I wanan get a Mac:
-my regular comp is becoming a piece of shit
-i want to become serious about web design
-if i got a mac i would get an iBook or powerBook for the portablility factor....
-also i understand a Mac is more geared towards music as well....and if my dad opens up a club i would want to DJ....

So i guess what I am asking is should i get a Mac?
And if so what kind of Mac? I am leaning mroe towards an iBook or PowerBook
And if not what kind of laptop should i get?

Thanks guys. Please back up yur anwsers with some reasons so i can get a better udnerstanding for wanna buy.

Why? If you get a mac, you are seriously dicking yourself out of SO many free programs and hardware. Macs are just fla-out accesible, and hard to upgrade. Just get a good windows or linuxed based PC.

I agree with BFG. You can DJ just as easy on a PC, get some kind of Party Music program, it's all the same.

You would be seriously punking yourself with a Mac, I say don't do it. Get a new PC.

Laptops are nice. Toshiba, compaq, hp, and alienware (yes even tho I hate them) all make nice laptops. Definatley try to get 1 gig of ram, but 512 is ok. Try for a either a really nice laptop processor like centrino, or turion 64. If not, get something like a amd 64, or pentium D.

Go for 15" screen, or even a 17 if you wish. Look for weight, depedning on your needs. Also get the biggest possible HD available, as laptops have smaller ones.
