I really like the whole effect of the sig. Also Tenchu was an awesome game! I remember playing it for years trying to complete it on Grand Master difficulty on the Playstation one.

since the render already has the tree in there and you can't get rid of it without screwing up the face, then you should probably add more of the tree... to make it look they're coming out of the forest, more leaves on the top right... might look good
