This christmas, i recieved a tablet from my mom as a gift (i was very, very surprised, like this: )
Its a 4x5 in. wacom intuos 3 tablet, and as far as the ratings go, its the bestest kind of tablet
however, im not used to using it at all, and i truly find it easier to draw with a mouse.
since the size of it is so small, when i go from the top left corner to the bottom, my curser only goes halfway across the monitor screen
it's very strange having to "levitate" the pen to make the curser move (touching it makes it click)
i think it would be easier to have a tablet pc which you can actually draw on the monitor itself instead of looking up and drawing at the same time, or a cintiq thing which is like a monitor. however, no one will ever pay like $2000 just for me to have one :P
since i dont want to seem rude and never use a $200 gift that my mom put a lot of effort into researching etc., i need to get used to it!
---------
Should i practice tracing things to get used to it, or should i just use it a lot?
please help by suggesting methods that worked for you
thanks,
Kate

practice makes perfect! You'll get the hang of it with more use.

I just wrote with my tablet thing. Although mine is awful.. it's still the same idea.
I used it instead of a mouse for a while also , just an evening or so. That helped =)
