Anyone know of a good, cheap mp3 player? I find it crazy how much ipods cost. I don't need 60 gigs or anywhere close for that matter. Also how many gigs would it take to hold 500 songs? Lets say an average of 4-5 each.

I would take around 2-4 gigs of space for 500.

Depends greatly. Just buy an Ipod, they NOT horrible products, or go with a good (high storage) creative. I mean comeon, 500 songs, that's a small collection, around 50 cd's or so!

iPod shuffles range from like 50-80 us dollars... but i'm not sure if they'd be any good since theres no screen and it only has 512 megs of storage... which is about a safe 150 songs. theyre cheap and reliable though, but difficult to navigate with :s

    My reccommendations:
    Creative Zen Micro Photo 4GB - $150
    iPod Nano 4GB - $250

A 4GB MP3 player will hold about 1,000 songs, so you will have room if you plan on increasing the size of your music collection in the future. Since you aree looking for something under $200, I would go for the ZMP. Both the Zen and the Nano have color screens with the ability to view JPG images. The iPod is much thinner and looks a little nicer, but it's not worth the extra $100, IMO.

The 8 gigger can be bought for $180-$190, so you would probably be paying that anyway if you had won that bid, since you have to add the shipping cost.
