Sometimes it's the fault of the product, though the chances of that actually happening is next to nada, so long that you've bought a legit copy of Photoshop (aka not downloaded)!

Unit Number 43 should be of some help, a lot more than I to say the least

hrm. Strangest question I've heard yet. most of the time when this happens it's because you've got a font selected that can't be used in photoshop, or because you've got some very weird font settings. In this case it's probably a corrupt settings file. reset your settings by holding down CTRL+ALT+SHIFT as it starts up, until a confirmation box pops up asking if you want to delete your settings. click yes.

FYI setting files are usually saved even after you've uninstalled a program, so if a problem persists (with any program) try a hard reset, just google "reset settings [program name here]".

Hey.. This method always works. Just follow my steps here.

    1.) Completely Un-Install Adobe Photoshop CS2
2.) Go to Start > Run > Regedit
    3.) Navigate to this Key > HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE>Adobe>Photoshop
    4.) Delete the "Photoshop" folder.
    5.) Navigate to this Key > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Photoshop
    6.) Delete this "Photoshop" folder.
7.) Completely Re-Install Photoshop and you'll be fine.
