When the hell did the internet become "the interweb"? It's annoying, and sounds stupid.

I know I don't really go anywhere other than the showoff and sotw area on most forums but I think I would have heard that still if it was commonly used.

Interweb is pretty much a joke to poke fun at people who don't know what the internet is. Apparently it caught on

I call it prefer to call it "t3h Int0rw3bz" I think the phrase Interweb was derived from "leet speak".
