I don't see what you did? Did you take the original photo, or even make the sprites?

I don't take any of this sprite shit serious. A second grader could do this!

I've taught a third grader how to do my style of art :P. Truely PS isn't that hard to use it's just coming up with the idea you want. That's where age comes it. 3rd graders don't thick that dynamic so it's hard to tell them to. But I got lucky with mine lol he's not a normal kid .

Anyway the pic looks cool, yeah doesn't seem hard but they're are fun to do. I basically like to do photomanipulations to the stock photo and set up a scene that has characteristics to the sprites.

Though you should show the stock photo to show what you've done.

Most kids are monkey see monkey do anyway.

One suggestion I would have is work on the lighting on the sprites. The sprites seems to have several light sources when you actually have one. The diglet, for example, the light source on it is coming from the wrong direction, as is its shade.

There is LOTS of ligthing work in there, Every sprite has its own lighting effect comming from the sun. Say what you say its isnt just copy/paste work. I cant take the photo (i live in holland) and do you see everyone making their renders ?
I cant show original cause you cant upload images in this forum which I think suck since that what you do here, show images.
