ok pretty much wat i said in the shout box repeated:

I think its a great thing for 3rd world countries. Its cheap and reliable for small educational use that most people in developing/poor countries can afford. May not be the best computer in the world but not the worst either. I have lived in a developing country, well kinda in between, so i kind of know what it feels like being the last person to try the latest technology, though i wasn't poor. the wireless networking is a really good feature but i wouldn't be sure that a lot of people in a developing country would be around a wireless network.

"In fact, one of the saddest but most common conditions in elementary school computer labs (when they exist in the developing world), is the children are being trained to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint,"

The above statement is so true. i use to go to a school where they offered computer classes but do u know what they use to teach? Logo (and something similar but forgot the name) and microsoft office. i dont think those 2 things would really help a kid understand computers better. that would just make the kid think that computers are boring rather than something new and exciting.

what they 'forget' to tell you is ICT is more business based nowadays, e.g. faxes memos paperwork, i chose gnvq ICT (4gcses) but its piss easy and all about the workplaces use of it, im waiting to get into college so i can study computing
