Mikael Akefeldt [Opeth] has the best singing voice ever to be heard on this earth. (go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJJ9hdu3wXM)

Jari Maenpaa (sp?) [Wintersun] can also sing very well. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOJmzS15pXw)

Hansi Kursch [Blind Guardian] also has an astounding singing voice.

So please dont do that thing I hate which is making a generalising opinion on something that you havn't even listened too properly .

Anyway, non-metal singers....er...well from what I hear on the TV/Radio every day there is no-one that really stands out as a particularly good singer imo. I mean sure, there are very good non metal singers out there. But none particularly stand out for me.

I just said metal because alot of people say people from bands like schwabshy listed off.

I like Tarja Turunen's voice (Ex Nightwish) but most people dont like nightwish cause of female vocals.

And erm, soad is like experimental metal for whoever said they werent.

[edit] Should we say non-classical too?

I mean from like.. either rock, or plain good singing, or indie, or acoustic, folk, etc.

    -Michael Jackson
-I like Ben Folds' voice, I wouldn't say it's even close to the 'best', but it's unique
-R Kelly - You know what? If he would stop peeing on girls and have someone else actually write him some decent music, he could be okay. Good voice, rediculously bad songs. So bad they're classics.
