.PNG opening error

hey all, I cant seem to open any of my PNG files in Photoshop anymore. I get 'could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file'. All other pic files(jpg, bmp, etc) seem to open fine. I didnt see any kind of option to fix this. Even tried the 'always use this program to open this type of file' when you right click and do the 'open with' junk.

Ideas/fixes?

well, dunno if it did or not. My memory usage was set to 55%I have 2 GB of RAM, so it was a bit over 1GB to PS). I changed it to 50%, they opened fine. I changed it back to 55%, just to see. BUT, they opened fine like that as well. guess it was one of those weird flukey things.
