Duplicate the render and set it to a setting like Dark Light then maybe lower the opacity a bit, the render needs to stand out more. Keep working thougH!

Black spots on the right seem a bit out of place. As virtue said, make the render seem not so smothered by the bg.

work on adding depth...the white on his face takes flattens the sig out and takes away from the focal point. try bluring some of his foot to make it look out of focus, it'll help add depth...good work keep it up!!!

edit: There's no such thing as Dark Light. My bad, just make sure the key focal points of the render (like mario's face) are visible and above the bg.
