Fatness

Why do people care so much about other people being fat? I am rather skinny but I just thought I'd ask.

I dont have a problem with it.
I am 5'8" and weigh 128 pounds about.
Only time I have a problem with fatness is when I eat junk food.
Other than that, I have friends that are overweight. Doesnt bother me one bit.
But I've always wondered why some people make a big deal about it.

As being a "big" guy myself, I find it somewhat grotesque when people are extremely overweight. I don't find it nasty to be fat in general tho, as long as you can function as a person.

I never really had problems being an overweight guy though.

I just cant stand it when you watch the news and stuff when people are talking about an overweight epidemic. Who cares? People are choosing to be fat by what they eat. Why should someone else care about it? I think they know that they're overweight.

Yea as a fatty i know I'm overweight. I'd like to lose weight but it's nothing I care about enough to change what i do on a day to day basis. Most of the people I know are cool with it. I also liek what verm said:

Why should they care about it, it isn't them, so why is it their bussiness?

obesity is bad; health issues, such as increased chance of heart failure / shortened lifespan etc.
theres nothing wrong with being overweight. its just an image thing; girls tend to go for triangle shaped guys, its in their genetic coding to do it because it means that the guy's immune system is strong.

Yes being overweight has health risks but there is no need for this kind of stuff to make the news. People know they're overweight, they don't need reminded or told why.

i kno...i'm pissed...i'm not overweight...but yet since i gusee "kid's are fat"...we got a health code this school year...that meant no more soda, no mroe candy, nothin sold at school

i was pissed...oh well shcool year is like done now

I don't actually have a problem with it. I'm just a streak of piss, meself, but its up to people how they live their lives. On both sides of the argument, what I think is thus:
A) It's up to people how they live their lives.
B It's a governments duty to tell them the consequences of that
life.
Now you might think the government is just banging on about it because they can, but at least you KNOW that stuff like salt and MSG is bad for you.

I dunno - I noticed about a month or 2 ago that I was gaining more weight than I should, and I started working out. I don't see why more people can't do this. It's fine to be a bit overweight, but when you see people looking like overinflated beach balls, it makes me feel sick!
