actually, it is too dark, There isnt much effects. Looks unfinished and no depth, flow or light source. Keep on working at it. Read more tutorials and you'll gradually improve

All of my signatures are of that style.
    Simplicity is beauty.
And thanks, I dont need tutorials though brohan. I think I used maybe 2 tutorials in my 3 years of graphics. Its a style choice.
And there is a consistent light source, its an out sourcing light source that doesnt come from the top or bottom, but wrather the center.

Thanks for the CnC though. I'll call it style.

nevertheless, simplicity doesnt always make a signature better. this one has way too much negative space. i cant actually see any effects.. except for the .. random faded red lines in the background. im not sure whether only using 2 tutorials in 3 years makes you exceptionally good or exceptionally arrogant :S

edit: this is in relation to the first sig.

the second sig i quite like although it could use a bit of contrast or displacement..

I would say that using only two tutorials would not make me either of those. It would make me self taught, and possibly a maverick.

Yea and I agree for the second one. I did darken and blurr everything except for her face to give it a depth perception... but it didnt come out quite how I had planned.

Theres no point in arguing about it, but when he said I would gradually improve, I felt that doing it through tutorials is no way to improve, but self teaching is the way to go. And I still stand by that.
