I need a tip drill. Comments?

I'm just gonna post this up for feedback I guess. It was an experimental peice. I didnt really have a finished idea in mind. Just messing around and trying some new things.
I used some lines with blurs. Messed with color balance,brightness/contrast, curves, channel mixer,posterize. I didnt really know at all what i was doing with most of the things so it's not a great peice.

I'm really trying to get to the point where I'm able to put a sharp professional look on whatever I make, I just want it to look good and right now, I'm not doing that.
Tips on what i could work on appreciated.

I like that dog one! Pretty original, although the text shouldn't be over the dog like that. As for the Jet Li one, erase the scan lines over his face since that's where you want the focus to be, if not just get rid of them all together.

Eww, yeah...scanlines on his face. First thing that I noticed lol.
Other than that, they are pretty cool.
