okay, I think you need a border, maybe about 5-7px
also you can make the sig smaller
and think remove THAT thing... you can see too that more details needed...

5-7 px? thats pretty thick. Kinda depends though i guess. As long as your talking about around the WHOLE sig then yeah 5-7 px is okay but, I'd probably go more with 3-5 px.

It looks like there is somethign on top of master chief. Like another render on a low opactiy. I'd get rid of that it makes it look too busy and hard do look at. I'd also try moving master cheif into the middle more if you can. He's pretty far off to the side, which kind of makes him look less like a focal point.

I would try adding something to the BG. Maybe a c4d some brushing or something. What I'd do with this sig is probably add a c4d on linear dodge blending options. Brush with some cloud brushes on a new layer, and smudge them using a 36 px chalk brush on scattered smudge settings like these:

papa is a showoff!! back tot he point i would say add the boarder, delete the snake thingy and the colors of the bg gray and rust i think it is try and use colors from the render, use the eye dropper tool take like a yellow and then like a darker yellow i would say with this render

Borders and text are optional. They are not requirements for a tag.

Personally, I would have centered the render and tried to add effects around it. A good light source wold be nice, and add shadows where they would occur naturally. The background is really plain right now. Try to add effects in to make it more interesting to look at.
