Well i can see you followed my tut. The render is way to stretched, and also to big. Did you remember to hold down shift while re-sizeing. or i can see you didnt.
Also you need to blend in the render and putt on a border. Stick to defaults when your are maing your text.
Not to bad for your first though but try to do it again and do he things i said..

So even if it is his first he still needs to know what to work on.

Even if he doesn't know how though... lol

i agree with daemon he needs to be told what to improve on.
i constantly had that, and got up to the level i am within about 3 months of using photoshop, and i only use it around twice a week.

Hey man, I think Daemon has some good ideas, but don't let those get stuck in your head. Personally, I'm at a point where I'm sick of the border, I'm sick of the blended render, sick of all that overdone malarkey. You don't NEED any of that stuff, you've got a SiCK sig already, ESPECIALLY for your first time.
What I think:
Your render is too stretched. It's not proportional.
Simple text is cool. But sometimes it doesn't always flow with the piece.
The blurred background is awesome [good depth]. Makes it look like he's got some speed.
And it doesn't need a border, unless you want one.
Just keep it up, you'll be making kick ass sigs in no time.

I never said he needed to do it, or ment that he needed to. I just come up with some that makes it look better and a little blending sure will
