Basically, I had no idea what I was going to do for a c4d, but I never do. I don't plan out a design, I just go for it and see what I get. So that's what I did, and that's why you see experimenting and stuff..
The tutorial shows you to experiment, and also shows you how to use a sweep nurb and lathe nurb to make a pretty decent render. (thanks to steam's tentacle tut on showing myself how to use sweep nurbs <3)

Note:
I didn't use a hyper nurb, because it crashed my pc lol.
If you look, on the top (grey) C4D outcome, it isn't completely "smooth", using a hyper nurb would have prevented that. But also note that it will make your render take longer to complete in the picture viewer.
As you can see though in my "with material" preview, it doesn't look half bad without a hyper nurb. I hardly ever use a hyper nurb. It's up to you.
